Ming Dynasty

The Ming Dynasty lasted from 1368-1644 and was the lasted dynasty ruled by the Hans. The Ming Dynasty oversaw many big construction projects like The Great Wall, The Grand Canal, and The Forbidden City. Their monetary system was based on silver and they traded with European countries like Spain and Portugal. Their fall was protracted, it started in the 1600’s with the emergence of Manchu under Nurhaci. With their superior military the Mings were able to defeat the Manchu, but could not recapture them. In 1644 Beijing fell to a rebel army led by Li Zicheng, who established the Shun Dynasty, which was soon replaced by the Manchu-led Qing Dynasty.
