East Asian Calligraphy

The local name for calligraphy in China is (書法), pronounced as shu-fat, which litterally means “they way of writing”. Calligraphy is to try and write a word as eye-catching as possible. This does not mean as tidy as possible though. It is, in fact, quite the opposite. Most people try to give the words “life” and they often do this by adding long strokes and “flicks” which would not normally be seen.
